Position Summary:
The Buyer is responsible for optimizing material cost, inventory levels, and lead-times for components/raw materials in a multi-location global manufacturing environment. The Buyer is expected to fully leverage the ERP System to drive the execution of material procurement.
Key Responsibilities:
· Evaluate and select suppliers to support business objectives
· Analyze, develop and maintain MRP rules through SAP to have the right product at the right location at the right time
· Update and maintain SAP parameters to ensure accuracy of planning inputs (ie. lead time, safety stock requirements, preferred supplier, minimum order quantities, price lists)
· Manage and maintain appropriate inventory levels to support customer requirements.
Education and Professional Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in supply chain management preferred
· 2-5 years related experience preferred
Technical Requirements:
· ERP system experience required. SAP Business One experience preferred.
· Experience procuring material via Material Requirements Planning tool preferred
· Must have experience using Microsoft Office Applications
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred
· Must be highly detail oriented
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
· Strong communication skills required
